In addition to assuring consistent pressure readings, porous metal snubbers increase instrument life by eliminating variatious in line pressure caused by hydraulic or pneumatic shocks and pulses.
Porous metal can also be used to reduce noise by diffusing a high pressure/velocity gas exhaust stream.
